
Country’s scheduled commercial banks will remain open in limited form during the extended period of countrywide restrictions on movement from April 21 to April 28, said the Department of Offsite Supervision of Bangladesh Bank in a circular on Tuesday (April 20).
The circular said the directive issued on April 13, 2021 for continuing the banking services has been extended to April 28, 2021.
According to the circular, the transactions in banks will continue from 10:00am to 1:00pm everyday, except the weekly holidays. The banks will remain open till 2:30pm to finish the post-transaction activities. A branch of each bank will remain open at upazila level on Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday. Each branch within the two square kilometer of the city corporations will have to be kept open on every working day.
During the restrictions, ATM booths will always remain open. At the same time, online services including internet banking will remain open. Besides, the bank branches at seaport, landport and airport areas will remain open for providing export-import services.
