The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has extended the banking hours by 30 minutes to 3:30pm until July 15 for facilitating the financial transactions of the clients during the lockdown.
The central bank on Wednesday issued a circular for all scheduled commercial banks in compliance with the Cabinet Division’s latest directives on the countrywide restrictions to contain the coronavirus infection.
“Banks will remain open from 10:00am to 5:00pm, while the transactions will be held between 10:00am and 3:30pm,” said a Bangladesh Bank (BB) circular issued on Wednesday.
The central bank took the decision despite the government extended the nationwide restrictions on public movement until July 15 to curb Covid-19 infections.
Banks have been following the rostering system for their employees since April 14 as per the instructions of the banking regulator and the government.
Apart from this, all the issues of the circular issued on April 13 will remain unchanged.
