A seven-day strict lockdown imposed by local administration has begun in Satkhira to stem the spread of Covid-19 amid recent hike in infections.
The lockdown recommended by district Covid-19 protection committee came into effect from Saturday morning and will continue till June 12.
Satkhira Deputy Commissioner (DC) SM Mostafa Kamal confirmed the matter.
During the lockdown people are not being allowed to get out of their homes unless there is an emergency.
Shops that sell emergency essentials will remain open from 9:00am to 12:00pm during the lockdown.
Vehicular movements in the district have also remained closed.Share this post:
