An all-out lockdown has started in Rajshahi city for seven days in aiming to prevent the coronavirus infection.
The lockdown started at 5:00 pm on Friday (June 11) and will continue till midnight of June 17.
Law enforcers including Rab and police men have been deployed across the city to implement the lockdown strictly.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique visited Saheb Bazar Zero Point area in the city to monitor the situation around 5:00 pm on the day.
He said, “Decision has been taken for a seven-day strict lockdown. Lockdown means lockdown. We want a complete lockdown.”
Later, RMP Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique along with Rajshahi City Awami League General Secretary Dablu Sarkar visited Saheb Bazar and RDA Market areas. He expressed satisfaction as all shops were found closed by the specific time.
At that time, he issued instructions to police members to perform duties strictly during the lockdown.Share this post:
