Another span is likely to be installed on the Padma Bridge on Thursday (November 12), to make a 5,550-meter stretch of the main structure visible.
The 37th span of the ‘dream bridge’ would be laid down on pier Nos. 9 and 10 at the Mawa end of the structure, If the weather is found favorable and there is no technical problem.
However, if the weather is found bad or any other complication occurs, the span will be placed on November 13.
Dewan M Abdul Kader, executive engineer of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge, confirmed the matter.
He said, “A floating crane will transport the span from Mawa’s Kumarbhog Construction Yard to the specific pillars around 9:00 am on Thursday.”
