In order to accelerate the adoption of 400G for data center interconnect (DCI), Arista Networks has announced successful interconnection testing between multiple 400G ZR providers through Microsoft’s 120km open line system tested.
This multi-vendor testing will lay the foundation for a “healthy, interpersonal, integrated” optics ecosystem, providing customers with a wide range of options for building high-speed data center interconnect (DCI) networks.
The 400G ZR will be a good fit for cloud service providers for “next generation” DCI networks because it addresses the need for interconnected, high-density and affordable metro power. With the same density as standard gray optics, the technology can deliver a single fiber pair of bandwidths of up to 25 photos / second by compressing descriptively “efficient synchronized” signals in standard QSFP-DD modules.
Next-generation routers with enhanced thermal management need to accommodate different 400G ZR vendors and this is the key to enabling an efficient sustainable multi-source ecosystem. With the help of Aristar 7800R3 routing platforms, Microsoft’s transmission test will ensure “great” optical and thermal performance in a wide range of 400G ZR vendors.
