TicWatch GTH review

The Mobvoi TicWatch GTH might look a little like an Apple Watch at first glance, but the similarity ends there. This is a cheap device, and you’ll get what you pay for.

Some of its tools work well enough. Its sleep monitoring tracks acceptable, light and deep sleep periods so you can observe patterns throughout the night.

Unfortunately, its fitness tracking goes a long way. There is no GPS on board, meaning you need to keep your phone running, cycling and walking so that the TicWatch can piggyback to its GPS receiver. When this happens, the results may be quite wrong to shave half a kilometer away from our pre-measured 5km path. This may not be so important if you are new to running or climbing, if you are training for a mid-distance event that the margin of error is really a concern.
