Stock markets today witnessed flat when
daily transactions declined on lower demand.
The day’s trade value at DSE declined to Taka 9,059.038 million from
Monday’s Taka 11254.561 million and the daily trade fell to 21.97 crore
shares from 28.29 crore of the previous session.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with
19.37 points up at 5,714.75. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also
followed the same trend with 15.61 points down at 2,178.60 and with 0.40
points down at 1,279.88.
At the DSE, prices of 128 securities out of the day’s 355 closed higher
against 126 losing issues.
The major gaining issues were Beacon Pharma, Eastern Insurance, Makson
Spinning, ICB and HFL. The major losing issues were EPGL, MEGHNAPET, Tallu
Spinning, Intech and BD Lamps.
Beximco topped the turnover list followed by Robi, BATBC, Beximco Pharma
and Lanka Bangla Finance.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with a
downward trend with its major CASPI 56.28 points down at 16,588.75.
At the CSE, a total of 242 issues were traded while 93 closed higher and
95 closed lower as 1.34 crore shares worth Taka 47.28 crore changed hands.
