The Windows 10 May 2020 update has been cleared for extensive deployment which means it will now be widely offered to all users.
In other words, the upgrade floodplain has been completely unlocked, with various bugs and glitches prior to the May 2020 update preventing Microsoft from making it available to all recipients (it only runs on certain PCs).
As an improvement to the status of the May 2020 update identified by Microsoft Power users, Microsoft said: “Windows 10, version 2004 [May 2020 update] has been nominated for a wider deployment. The proposed servicing status is a half-yearly channel.
As we have seen in recent times, Microsoft is working to resolve various issues around the 2020 update, but it has taken some time to give it a full clearance. Note that the upgrade was (surprisingly) published in May 2020, at the end of the month; So it took about nine months to give the big thumbs up to the update.
