All students, teachers and staff members should get vaccinated before reopening schools, says a parents’ forum
Schools and colleges across the country are set to reopen from Sunday after one and a half years of closure.
Parents of English medium students have demanded the reopening to take place in phases – after vaccinating the students and taking proper safety measures at the educational institutions.
They made the demands at a press conference arranged by Bangladesh English Medium School Parents Forum on Saturday.
The parents said they were not mentally ready to send their children back to school unless all the students were vaccinated and schools took appropriate measures to maintain Covid-19 health guidelines.
Forum President AKM Ashraful Haque said all students, teachers and staff members should get vaccinated before reopening schools.
He proposed that students aged 12-18 should get vaccinated in the first phase and those younger get vaccinated in the second phase
