The intern doctors at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) have started their work abstention for an indefinite period.
They are carrying out the work abstention as the CMCH authority, police and intern doctors could not find out a solution in a meeting held with the Intern Doctors Association on Wednesday (April 28) noon.
The intern doctors came under the attack on Tuesday (April 27) night after two groups of BCL men locked into a clash at the medical college. Following this, the interns went on a work abstention in protest against the attack on them by outsiders and demanded punishment for the culprits.
Brigadier General Mohammad Humayun Kabir, director at the CMCH, said, “We held a meeting with the intern doctors yesterday noon and assured them of complying with their demand. We hope that they will join their work.”
