Three members of a family died of electrocution as they came in contact apparently with an electrified wire at Jaliapara of Kishoreganj sadar upazila on Friday (May 28) noon.

The deceased were known as Harun Or Rashid, 45, his son Bablu, 18, his nephew Saad, 10.

Kishoreganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the matter.

Quoting locals police said Saad came in contact with a live electric wire when he was taking his bi-cycle from a bamboo pole of electricity. Bablu and his father Harun came forward to save him. Then they also came in contact with the electricity and sustained seriously injuries. They were rushed to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College and Hospital immediately where duty doctors declared them dead.

Police said they were investigating how they were electrified from bamboo the pole. Their bodies have been sent to the morgue of Kishoreganj General Hospital for autopsy.
