18 more people have died from coronavirus infections and coronavirus-like symptoms while undergoing treatment at the corona unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).

Confirming the matter this morning, RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani said the deaths were reported in the last 24 hours starting from 8:00am on Wednesday (July 07) to 8:00am today, Thursday (July 08).

Of the 18 deaths, eight were coronavirus positive and one was coronavirus negative and died of breathing problem. The remaining nine died of symptoms similar to that of coronavirus.

Of the dead, nine were in Rajshahi district, two each in Chapainawabganj and Natore, three in Naogaon, one each in Pabna and Kushtia, he said.

With them, the number of Covid-19 deaths in the hospital rose to 139 in eight days of this month.

A total of 354 people died at the corona unit of the hospital in the month of June.
