The Authority of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) has postponed the admission of general patients except for those seeking emergency treatment as the hospital is currently facing additional pressure of Covid-19 patients.

To tackle the situation, activities related to the routine operation are also kept closed for the time being.

CMCH Director Brigadier General SM Humayun Kabir came up with the decision in an official order.

Deputy director of the hospital Dr Aftabul Islam authenticated the information on Monday (July 12).

The decision has been taken due to the mounting pressure of Covid-19 patients in the hospital, the deputy director of the hospital said.
