Khulna division reported 48 more coronavirus (Covid-19) deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of deaths in the division to 1,641.

The deaths were reported between 8:00am on Sunday (July 11) and 8:00am on Monday (July 12).

Some 1,642 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the division over the same period, raising the total number of people infected to 73,192. Of those infected with the virus, some 47,106 people made recoveries so far.

Khulna Health Department (Disease Control) Assistant Director Dr Ferdousi Akhter confirmed this information.

According to the office of divisional director of health, 13 people died of coronavirus infections in Khulna district, 12 in Jashore, nine in Kushtia, six in Jhenaidah, three in Chuadanga, two in Bagerhat, one each in Narail, Satkhira and Magura.

Earlier, Khulna division reported record 71 Covid-19 deaths on Friday (July 09) and 60 deaths on Sunday (July 11).
