Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Armed Police Battalion (APBn) have rescued four students who were allegedly kidnapped by a Rohingya group at Ramu in Cox’s Bazar.
They also detained seven Rohingyas who were involved in the abduction.
RAB-15 Commander Lt Col Khairul Islam confirmed the news.
The rescued students were identified as Mohammad Kaysar, Jahidul Islam Mamun, Mizanur Rahman Nayan and Mijanur Rahman.
RAB will hold a press briefing in this regard.
Four students were abducted allegedly by Rohingya youths in Cox’s Bazar on their way to Saint Martin’s island.
Family members of the students alleged that they received calls from suspected abductors demanding a ransom of Tk 20 lakh for their release.
