McAfee sells enterprise security business in $4bn deal

Cybersecurity giant McAfee has announced that it has entered into a specific agreement to sell its enterprise business to private equity firm Symphony Technology Group (STG) for a total of $4 billion in cash transactions.

The sale came just five months after McAfee was released to Nasdaq, and plans to become an authentic drama consumer cybersecurity company to move it forward. According to McAfee, its enterprise business is a trusted partner for 86 percent of Fortune 100 firms worldwide and last year it earned $1.3 billion from net income.

Peter Leave, President and CEO of McAfee, gave further insights into the sale in a press release: The transaction will allow McAfee to single-handedly focus on our consumer business and accelerate its strategy to be at the forefront of customer personal protection.”
