Siemens Energy was awarded a topside EPC contract by MISC Berhad for eight complete topside modules that will provide sustainable, efficient, and environmentally friendly power generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as an FPSO to manage gas processing and shrinkage in South America in 2024.
MISC Berhad is also building FPSO to expand its fleet of 14 floating production systems. The FPSO is expected to have a processing capacity of 180,000 barrels of oil and 12 million cubic meters of gas per day.
“The order demonstrates our strength and efficiency in transforming FPSO operations to be more sustainable while meeting production requirements,” said Thorbjorn Farce, executive vice president of Siemens Energy Industrial Applications.
Topside modules will be designed and manufactured across Asia, including core engineering and execution activities through Singapore. Packaging for all rotating equipment packages will take place at Siemens Energy’s Santa Barbara d’Ost facility in Brazil. This facility is fully equipped to provide support and service to the FPSO modules once it is installed.
Siemens Energy’s supply scope includes EPC’s work for eight modules and a few key components: two electrical, low-pressure centrifugal compressors; Two electric, CO2 compressors; Three main injection compressors powered by Siemens Energy SGT-A35-GT62X gas turbines; Four Siemens Energy SGT-A 35-GT 30 gas turbines for power generation; An e-home; Plus all electrical including an electrical control and management system (ECMS).
