DE-CIX deploys its IX platform in four QTS mega data centers

DE-CIX, one of the largest data center neutral interconnection ecosystem operators in the world, has deployed core switches in four QTS mega data centers. The expansion of the IX platform helps DE-CIX increase connectivity by increasing access to North American Internet exchanges.

Both Chicago and Richmond represent new markets for D-CIX. The Dallas / Irving D-CIX Core Switch enables QTS customers to peer around 100 networks, while the New York D-CIX Core Switch provides QTS ‘Piscutway customers with access to more than 250 networks.

All four DE-CIX Internet Exchanges in North America, including DE-CIX Chicago and RVA-IX, are connected to DE-CIX New York and DE-CIX Dallas via a private network. This will create a completely redundant, optimized low-latency route within each market. DE-CIX and QTS have partnered with global consulting firm Interglobics on new expansions across four markets.

D-CIX provides a multi-service network interconnection platform, which is at the heart of today’s and tomorrow’s Internet infrastructure. With just one connection, networks gain access to a variety of services, including hundreds of local carriers, ISPs, content, cloud and application provider connections.

The multi-service port, including DE-CIX, allows the network to manage multiple services, including DirectCloud, to reach cloud providers, including GlobePER, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, and others for peer-to-peer network. All DE-CIX platforms are distributed in a secure way, providing access to multiple interconnection services that they offer through different carriers and data centers in each market.
