The Sydney Opera House was evacuated after a gas leak was detected.

Emergency services were called at around 2pm today, clearing multiple sections of the iconic building as a precaution.

More than 15 firefighters are on the scene trying to determine the source of the leak, and most people have been ordered to leave the area.

Preliminary reports suggested that there was a leak inside the carpark. But authorities are now working to determine if it started elsewhere.
