Email-driven tech support scams are on the rise
Email security firm Vade Secure has unveiled an ongoing technology-support scam that uses fake antivirus invoices to trick users into enabling remote access to their computers.
This is the latest in a series of surveillance of technology-backed scandals that began with the promotion of counterfeit invoices for well-known security software by sharing details of such a worrying malware.
This new scandal targets users through fake antivirus renewal invoices from popular retailers such as McAfee, Norton and Microsoft, enticing victims to hand over their personal details.
