The government has withdrawn 4 percent advance tax on import of unrefined soybean and palm oil keep the prices of the essential commodities at reasonable level during Ramadan.

The VAT policy wing of NBR issued a Statutory Regulatory Order on Sunday in this regard.

The order said 4 percent advance tax (AT) on import of the crude soybean and palm oil has been waivwd in order to control the market of the edible oil.

But, only VAT-registered companies will get the advantage, said NBR.
