We probably won’t see Android 12 in full form until September, but we already know a lot about it for the developer preview release – and the third of these has been launched with many new features launched
Many of these are aimed at helping developers more than minors or users, but a few are notable. Here’s the experience of launching a new app: With Android 12, when you launch an app you will first see a splash screen showing the app’s icon and then a transition to the app itself.
Google claims that it has created a “more consistent and enjoyable experience” and adds that developers can customize the splash screen extensively if they want, so it doesn’t have to use the app’s static launcher icon – it’s just the default.
