The Garmin Venu 2 straddles the line between smartwatch and running watch remarkably well, balancing essential everyday wellbeing features with advanced workout tracking tools. We’ve only tested it for a short time so far and will update this review soon with our full verdict and score, but our initial impressions are positive.
Like many modern wearables, Venu 2 places a lot of emphasis on wellness, with breathing exercises and tools including stress monitoring throughout the day reminding you to take care of your mental as well as physical health. However, it is not a typical fitness tracker, and it is packed with serious equipment for a variety of sports monitoring.
Runners with GLONASS-supported on-board GPS are especially well cared for for proper speed and distance tracking, downloadable training plans (via Garmin Connect), auto-pause and split recording for various clock features. It’s not as advanced as the Phoenix 6 or the Ferruna 945, which provides more advanced tools for managing Training Plus Live, but it’s a strong offer.
