Banks will remain open from 10:00 am to 1.30 pm during the seven-day nationwide lockdown starting from Thursday (July 1) to prevent from the coronavirus infection.
Md Serajul Islam, spokesperson and an executive director of Bangladesh Bank (BB), confirmed this to risingbd on Wednesday (June 30).
He said, “Banks will remain open from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm during the lockdown. However, post-transaction ancillary activities will continue till 3:00 pm.”
Meanwhile, July 1 (Thursday) is the bank holiday. So, all banks will remain closed on the day. Besides, Friday and Saturday are government holidays. So, banks will remain closed for next three days.
