Khasru new SCBA president, Kazal gen secy

Pro-Awami League White Panel candidate Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru has been elected president while pro-BNP Blue Panel candidate Ruhul Quddus Kazal elected general secretary in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) election.

In the election, the White Panel bagged eight out of 14 posts, while the Blue Panel clinched six posts.

The polls started at 10:00am on Wednesday and concluded at 5:00pm on Thursday.

A seven-member sub-committee, led by former Justice AFM Abdur Rahman, conducted the election.

This year, a total of 5,676 voters, out of 7,721, cast their votes in the election.

A number of 51 candidates contested the polls for 14 posts.
