Urging all Police to begin motivational programme to contain coronavirus
to follow the health guidelines in containing the rising trend of new coronavirus cases, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed has informed that Bangladesh Police to initiate a motivational programme to ensure using face mask.
“Bangladesh Police will begin a programme on March 21 to motivate people in maintaining health protocols. People must wear masks to carry out all activities. None should go outside without mask. If necessary, police will distribute free masks,” said the IGP.
The police boss gave the directives in a press briefing held at Rajarbagh Police Lines on Thursday
He also laid importance on maintaining health and safety rules to hold any gathering.
Meanwhile, the global death toll from the Covid-19 reached 26,91,832 on Thursday with the virus situation worsening around the world, according to Worldometer, which provides statistics on coronavirus deaths and infection rate.
In Bangladesh, the Covid-19 fatalities climbed to 8,608 and the total infections to 562,752 till Wednesday, according to a handout of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
