Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested Maulana Jalal Uddin Ahmed, assistant secretary general of Hefazat-e-Islam.

He was arrested from his own residence of the capital Mohammadpur area on Saturday (April 17) noon.

DB Joint Commissioner Mahbub Alam confirmed the matter to risingbd.
He said, “He was arrested for the mayhem recently carried out across the country by Hefazat men. Besides, he was sued in another case from earlier. He will be produced before the court on Sunday (April 18) and remand will be sought.”
