Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam has said that whether the ongoing restrictions to prevent the coronavirus infection to be extended depends on the situation of India.
He made the disclosure while briefing media after the Cabinet Division meeting on Monday (May 17). The cabinet members joined the meeting chaired by PM Sheikh Hasina virtually.
The Cabinet Secretary said, “When long-haul buses, trains and launches will run depends on the situation in India. We are keeping an eye on India. The number of new cases and deaths in India has been declining in the last few days. That is what we are aiming for. Then a decision will be made in this regard.”
“We will see for another week whether the lockdown will be extended. During this time, we will get the preview of India. Then, the government will make the final decision,” he concluded.
