The bail hearing in the case filed against Daily Prothom Alo Senior Reporter Rozina Islam will be held today (Thursday).

The hearing is expected to be held at the virtual court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah in the morning.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Nizam Uddin, General Registration Officer of the court for Shahbagh Police Station, revealed the matter.

Advocate Ehsanul Haque Somaji and several other lawyers will move for Rozina Islam in the court, according to lawyer Prashanta Kumar.

He said “The hearing will be held virtually on Thursday morning. We expect Rozina Islam will secure bail in the case.”

Mentionable, Rozina entered health ministry of the Secretariat around 3:30 pm on Monday (May 17) for professional duties. She was confined in the room of health secretary’s PS Saiful Islam for allegedly removing files and snatched away her mobile phone. At one stage, she fell sick.

Later, Rozina was handed over to Shahbag Police Station around 8:30 pm. Then, she was shown arrested in a case filed under Official Secrets Act in the midnight.

On Tuesday, she was produced before a Dhaka court and sought remand for her. But the court rejected the remand plea and sent her to jail.
