Three Union Parishads (UPs) of Gopalganj sadar upazila have been put on special lockdown due to increase the coronavirus infection.

The unions are Satparh, Boultoli and Sahapur.

Law enforcement agencies have been deployed in the areas to implement the lockdown properly from Friday (May 28).

Dr Md Sakibur Rahman, Medical Officer of Gopalganj Civil Surgeon Office, confirmed the matter.

Gopalganj Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Rashedur Rahman said the markets and shops of the three unions will remain closed during the lockdown. Public transports will be restricted.

He said government grants would be given in addition to advising people not to leave their homes unless extreme necessary.
