The government has extended the ongoing lockdown by another seven days till June 6 in a bid to prevent the further spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Cabinet Division has issued a gazette notification in this regard on Sunday (May 30).
The restrictions imposed earlier due to the lockdown will remain in force from May 30 midnight till June 6, the notification said.
This year, the government initially imposed countrywide restrictions on public movement on April 5, with the strict lockdown put into effect from April 14. The lockdown was later extended till May 16. Until the new announcement, the restrictions were extended till May 30.
