The government will give houses to more 53,000 families, who have no land or home, as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s gift in Mujib Year.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the distribution through a virtual program on Sunday.
Under the project, landless and homeless families will get houses along with two decimal pieces of land.
Ahmad Kaikaus, principal secretary to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, announced this at a press conference on Thursday.
69,904 landless and homeless families across the country got their houses along with two decimal pieces of land under the project in January.
Gifting of homes to the homeless and landless people of Bangladesh marks the biggest festival in Mujib Year, the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he said.
