The government has imposed an all-out lockdown in seven districts to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The districts are – Gopalganj, Manikganj, Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Gazipur, Madaripur and Razbari.
Cabinet secretary Khandakar Anwarul Islam made the announcement on Monday afternoon (June 21).
The newly imposed lockdown will remain effective till next June 30, he added.
Earlier, National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 recommended the imposition of lockdown in Naogaon, Rajshahi, Natore, Jashore, Jhenaidah, Kushtia and Khulna to break the chain of Covid-19 transmission.
