Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged countrymen to stay at home during the strict lockdown, saying food will be delivered to homes if needed.
The Premier said this while addressing the National Parliament on Saturday (July 3) noon.
She said, “During the Eid-ul-Fitr, I repeatedly requested you not to leave your places. But, many did not listen to me. Everyone has rushed to the village house. What was the result? The coronavirus spread to different districts and the entire border areas. If everyone had listened to us, it might not have spread that way.”
She further said, “We have already tried our best to stand by the people. Not only the government but also the Awami League and allied organizations are cooperating with the people in various ways. We have already given incentives in various sectors, is currently iving financial support. There are no people of any class or profession who have not been given financial assistance. As the coronavirus has appeared again, we will help again as much as we can. We will definitely look into the matter so that there is no difficulty in getting food for anyone.”
