Follow health guidelines to celebrate Eid, Home Minister to countrymen

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has urged people to maintain health guidelines to celebrate the upcoming Eid as the coronavirus infection is on rising across the country.

He said, “The Eid-ul-Azha, a religious festival of Muslims, is upcoming. It involves the livelihood of people of many professions. Considering everything, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has issued directives to relax the lockdown. I hope everyone will follow the hygiene rules during these few days of Eid.”

The Minister said this while virtually unveiling the book “Khurshid’s Decoding Surgery” written by Director General (DG) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday (July 17) noon.

Zahid Maleque said, “There are 15,000 beds for treatment of coronavirus infected patients across the country. All the beds have already been filled with infected patients. I hope in these few days of Eid, everyone will be aware. At least it will not increase the rate of new cases. I hope everyone will return to Dhaka in good health after Eid.”

He said, “Doctors are trying to their best to give treatment to the patients. Prime Minister is giving instructions every day. Under her directives, 4,000 more doctors and 4,000 nurses are being recruited.”
