The strict lockdown announced before the holy Eid-ul-Azha to prevent coronavirus (Covid-19) infections is set to begin from 6am tomorrow, Friday (July 23) and will continue till August 5 midnight.
State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain warned that this time the lockdown would be stricter than earlier times.
He told this to reporters on Thursday (July 22).
“Lockdown won’t be eased. It would be stricter than before. Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and army will remand deployed to enforce the lockdown,” Farhad Hossain said.
All government, semi-government, autonomous and private offices, garments, and factories will remain closed, he said.
Earlier on July 13, the government issued a gazette notification easing the ongoing restrictions from July 14 midnight to 6am on July 23 on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
