A total of 30 people have died from coronavirus and coronavirus-like symptoms at the Covid-19 unit of Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) in the past 24 hours.

The deaths were reported in the last 24 hours starting from 8:00am on Thursday (August 05) to 8:00am today, Friday (August 06).

Dr Mohiuddin Khan Moon, focal person of the Covid unit, confirmed the news.

Besides, some 402 people tested positive for the virus over the same period, he said.

Among the deaths, 16 people died of coronavirus infections while the remaining 14 died of coronavirus-like symptoms, he added.
