At least four died of dengue across the country in the past 24 hours till 8:00am on Saturday, taking the total official number of deaths to 35 since January 2021.
Of the total deceased, 12 died in July and 23 in August, according to the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services.
Besides, 278 dengue patients were hospitalized during the same period across the country, climbing the total official number of hospitalised patients to 7,750 this year.
Of the hospitalised patients in the past 24 hours, 257 were from Dhaka while 21 from elsewhere, according to the DGHS.
Among the total hospitalised patients since January, a total of 7,279 or 94 per cent patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka.
During the past 21 days of August 2021, the number of hospitalised dengue patients was 5,092.
A total of 2,286 dengue patients were hospitalised across the country in July.
Some 1,206 dengue patients, including 1,119 at 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka, were undergoing treatment on Friday.
Only 87 patients were hospitalised in different hospitals in other divisions across Bangladesh.
According to DGHS data, 6,509 patients have so far returned home after recovery.
