A Dinajpur court has sent five people including Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to jail over demanding Tk 15 lakh after abducting a woman and her son in Chirirbandar of Dinajpur.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Biswanath Mondal passed the order on Wednesday (August 25) afternoon.

The accused are CID’s ASP Sarowar Kabir, Assistant Sup-Inspector (ASI) Hasinur Rahman and constable Ahsan ul Faruk, Fosiul Alam Palash and Habib Mia.

Dinajpur court police Inspector Md Moniruzzaman confirmed the matter.
