LPG price goes up on first day of Ramadan

The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) went up on the very first day of Ramadan, the lunar month of self-purification through fasting and abstinence of Muslims.

The price of per 12kg cylinder was hiked by Tk 48. Now a 12kg LPG cylinder will cost Tk 1,439.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission made the announcement on Sunday (April 03).

Earlier on March 3, the price of per 12kg LPG Cylinder was fixed at Tk 1,391 increasing from Tk 1,240. On February 3, it was hiked by Tk 62 and fixed at Tk 1,240 which was Tk 1,178 in January this year.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) fixed the price of LPG for the first time on April 12 last year. Since, prices are being adjusted once a month.
