Many banks are facing problems to operate their branches and sub-branches as they went under water in the flood-hit areas such as Sylhet, Sunamganj, Rangpur and Kurigram.
Keeping such branches and sub-branches closed, the central bank has instructed the managing directors and chief executive officers of those banks to provide emergency banking services to the customers from the nearest branch.
The Department of Off-site Supervision of Bangladesh Bank (BB) has issued a circular in this regard on Sunday (June 19).
The central bank sent the directive to the managing directors and chief executive officers of those banks.
