Dhaka Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Momtaz Begum has been selected as the best ‘Joita’ of Dhaka Division. He was awarded this award for his special contribution in the field of education and service. Earlier he received Shrestha Jayita award in the same category at the district level. The government is awarding ‘Jayita Award’ to women who are making outstanding contributions in various fields despite various adversities.
State Minister for Women and Child Affairs Fazilatun Nesa Indira handed over the award to Mumtaz Begum and four others in a ceremony titled ‘Bangladesh in pursuit of victory’ at the conference room of Shishu Academy in the capital on Thursday.
Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Md. Under the chairmanship of Khalilur Rahman, the secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs was the special guest. Mu. Hasanuzzaman Kollol and Director General of Women Affairs Department Farida Parveen. It is noted that BCS 29 batch officer Momtaz Begum has been serving the state, government and public interest with utmost care since the beginning of her career.
Before becoming Additional District Commissioner, he served as Assistant Commissioner of District Administration of Dhaka, ACEland of Motijheel Circle, Executive Officer of Rupganj Upazila of Narayanganj and Senior Assistant Secretary of Ministry of Local Government with great integrity and reputation.
In response to being selected as the best ‘Joita’ of Dhaka division, he told Amar Din, ‘In work, I always give the highest importance to the public interest and the ideals of the state and the government. Therefore, in many cases, we have to face various difficulties. He also said, “If you want to work, there will be some obstacles and criticism.” We have to work with these. But I think any problem can be overcome if there is honesty and sincerity.
