Bangladesh started the Three Nations Cup tournament with a 1-0 victory against Kyrgyzstan U-23 in Kathmandu of Nepal on Tuesday (March 23).
The men in red and green took part in the match sans Captain Jamal Bhuiyan who recently showed a brilliant performance in I League.
In Jamal’s absence, Sohail Rana was the captain in the match. The game started at 5:45 pm at the Dasharath Rangasala in Kathmandu.
Bangladesh took lead in the first half against Kyrgyzstan with a suicidal goal. In the 29th minute of the match, defender Kumar Baj, who was on the defensive side, got involved in his own net while clearing Saad Uddin’s cross from the right side. In the end, the result was finalised by this goal.
For Bangladesh, three players made their debuts. They are defender Rimon Hossain, Habibur Rahman Sohag and forward Mehedi Hasan Ruel.
