A five-wicket haul from Shakib Al Hasan scripted a comfortable 155-run win for Tigers against Zimbabwe in the first one-day international at the Harare Sports Club Ground on Friday (July 16), after a brilliant century from Liton Das.
Shakib claimed his third five-wicket haul in the format, taking 5-30, which took his wicket-tally in ODIs past Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and made him the most successful bowler for Bangladesh in the format, to bowl out Zimbabwe for 121 in 28.5 overs.
With the win, Bangladesh took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series and extended their winning streak against Zimbabwe in ODIs to 17.
Earlier, Bangladesh scored 276 runs losing 9 wickets in 50 overs after the hosts won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Liton Das hit a brilliant innings of 102 runs off 114 balls with 8 fours, powering the team to set a handsome target for the hosts.
Afif Hossain scored 45 runs off 35 balls while Mahmudullah smashed 33 runs from 52 balls.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz hit 26 runs off 25 balls while Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Mithun 19 runs each.
In the begging of the match, opener and skipper Tamim Iqbal hit a duck after playing 7 balls. Mohammad Saifuddin (not out) logged 8 runs while Mosaddek Hossain 5 runs.
