Benu Networks integrates SASE security

Benu Networks brings new Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and 5G Wireless Wireline Convergence (WWC) capabilities to virtual broadband network gateway (VBNG) operators and carrier networks. This release will enable carriers to optimize network performance and scale, quickly deploy SASE services to customers, and provide a unified experience across static and mobile networks.

Currently, most SAS offers will adopt an ‘outside in’ approach, where traffic goes to SASE solutions in a data center to be secured outside the carrier network, via the Internet.

Benu Networks’ software-defined SASE services operate within the carrier network, providing a carrier-first SASE approach. This will provide a high level of control to the carriers. This will allow them to manage “enterprise-grade” security for both remote employees and business site / branch offices, providing more efficient, streamlined security that does not expose the network to the risks associated with Internet-based systems.

“Careers need to be able to secure their networks and continue to transform networks into distance learning, work from home, and the rapid growth of 5Gs as network demand expands and introduces new security challenges,” said Ron Westfall, senior analyst and research director of Futurum Research. “Benu Network’s approach has led top influential industry standard forums to win and integrate SASE protection and 5G capabilities to allow BNG to become SD-edge. By architecting its products in compliance with standards set by BBF, 3GPP, MEF, and others, The solutions are engineered to optimize wireless and wireline conversions to facilitate a differentiated, software-defined edge environment.”
