Shahanur Alam Keramat, an assistant registrar of Islamic University, died of heart attack at a hospital in Jhenaidah on Monday night.
He was also the former president of the university unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League.
Keramat, 45, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital at about 10:30pm.
Keramat was buried at his family graveyard after a namaz-e-janaza held on the campus and his residence respectively, IU proctor Professor M Jahangir Hossain said.
He left behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaikh Abdus Salam, Treasurer Professor M Alamgir Hossain Bhuiya, IU Bangabandhu Parishad, Shapla Forum, IU BCL unit President SM Rabiul Islam Polash, its General Secretary Rakibul Islam Rakib and among others have expressed profound shock at the early demise of Keramat.
